Youth Council Workshops @ the AGH
YOUTH COUNCIL Workshops
@ the AGH
Suuuuper fun times are always had at the AGH, talking to kids about the evolution and differences between graffiti & street art. Pretty crazy to think only a short while ago, these topics would have been considered illicit and not fit for high school curriculums - and now I get paid to talk about Cornbread tagging elephants at the zoo, how SAMO died, the importance of not bein’ a toy, and the war between King Robbo and Banksy - and how to best utilize street art techniques to create your own masterpieces in a safe, environmentally-conscious, and legal way so you can express yourself!
The Art Gallery of Hamilton Youth Council Open Studio is a casual, relaxed and free drop-in art studio sessions at the AGH, held in the studio on the second Thursday of each month. Each week features a different medium and a feature emerging artist to demonstrate their practice. Drop in between 4-6 pm - and participants will have full access to the exhibitions during this time.
AGH Youth Council presents a hands-on exploration of graffiti and street art with Hamilton’s very own Julie Fazooli! Together we will learn lettering, stencilling, paint marker, and wheat-pasting techniques to create your very own graffiti style!
Ages: 15-24
